The only negative is the last point above. I am overall pretty happy about this keyboard. The switch choices are pretty limited – therefore I chose the hot-swappable version so that I can change them out later. Switch options are Gateron Red, Blue or Brown. And one could choose between plastic or aluminum frame. The backlight options are white or RGB LEDs. There are several variants or options for K4 keyboards. Except for the “~” key near the upper left corner. And specific to this particular model the switch sockets can accommodate 5-pin switches.Specific to this particular model (Keychron K4 version 2), the switches are hot-swappable. #C3 TANGERINE SWITCHES MAC#And I use this keyboard with my Mac exclusively. #C3 TANGERINE SWITCHES WINDOWS#Their keyboards could switch between Windows or Mac modes.Their keyboards could switch between wired or wireless usage.There are quite a few formats you could choose from its lineup.They just over all make pretty good quality keyboards.And for the version 2 of Keychron K4 – there are a number of positive attributes: I bought a K8 (TKL form-factor) and liked it quite a bit. I returned the previous version because I did not like the red linear switches that came with it. This is actually the second K4 model I purchased. They are pretty noisy but the feeling is quite good – and I can see the RGB lights! I am actually typing on the Kailh BOX Jade switches. I don’t like them that much, but I do prefer them over liner switches. Looking into my inventory, the only switch that I have sufficient number is the Kailh BOX Jade switches. So today I decided to spend the time and change them out. The other unintended consequence of Tranger switch is that the orange casings block out of RGB lights so no matter what light pattern I change to, they are all orange and quite dim. Unfortunately, I never grow to like these switches. The rarity and scarcity also added to the mystique to this switch. I don’t know what has gotten into me, but after watching a keyboard switch testing video on YouTube, it has become a “grail” switch for me. I am really not a liner switch fan but I have always wanted to try out the Tangerine switches. The only exception is the switch choice I made.Ĭ3 Tangerine switches are liner switches.
